I am seeking information on my great grandparents William Thomas TAYLOR, who was born in Montgomery County on 19 March 1854 and married in Giles County on 2 December 1880 to Sarah Catherine SMITH, born on 26 May 1853 at Mountain Lake. a daughter of William Bourbon and Maneriva Ann [LINK] SMITH. He was a school teacher. William Thomas & Sarah Catherine [SMITH] TAYLOR had 5 children;
1: Hattie Buford TAYLOR, born on 11 April 1881
2: Walter Thomas TAYLOR, born on 19 April 1882 {my grandfather}
3: Charles Lee TAYLOR, born on 15 July 1883
4: Harmon Wade TAYLOR, born on 11 January 1885
5: Myrtle Annie TAYLOR, born on 11 April 1890

BANE
I am a Confederate Civil War reenactor in California who honors Cpt. ROBERT HARVEY BANE of Company D of the 7th Virginia Confederate Infantry. (My reenacting unit is Co. D, 7th Virginia Infantry). Bane was born on 24 June 1836 in White Gate and died on 1 April 1980 in White Gate. Bane was burried in the Bane Family Cemetary in White Gate. I am seeking photographs and information about his life.

Malinda WILLIAMS – 5 daughters (2 oldest from previous marriages) Cynthia, Sarah, Elizabeth, Nannie Bell & Ida. Malinda born in Giles Co. and may have been a Bland. Philip and Malinda may have lived in Bland Co. 1874-75. Elizabeth married an IRVIN, a J.H. BIRD and Wm. KREIS. Ida married Edward A. SURFACE and then Joseph G. DAVIS.

I’m seeking the parents of Nancy HILL, Martha HILL and James W. HILL. Nancy HILL married Thomas BURDITT 7 February 1845, Giles Co. Va. James W. HILL was bondsman.
1850 Giles Co. census lists Thomas BURDITT age 28, Nancy BURDITT -30, Martha BURDITT age 2 and Martha HILL age 40.
James W. HILL married Lavina W. HEARN 27 June 1839 Wythe Co. Va. They had 6 children born in the Wythe/Giles Counties.

His parents were Michael Dinges and Gertrude and died on their voyage to American on the ship “The Brothers” in 1751. Their son, the above Peter, and a daughter (name unknown) survived the trip. His son Stephen Ballard Harrell was born in Pulaski County, Va., in 1859. He married Martha Elizabeth Josephine HELTON on 16 August 1883, at Sugar Run, Giles County, Va. Ballard’s son Charles Rufus Harrell was born 12 August 1884, Giles County, Va.
