No Danger of Lynching

Christiansburg, Va., October 25. – (Special) – Minor Smith, the young man charged with attempted criminal assault in Giles county, is in jail at Pearisburg. A rumor reached here to-day that there was a danger of his being lynched, but to inquiring by ‘phone the reply from Pearisburg was that everything was quiet, and no violence was apprehended there.

A gentleman, who has reached here from the vicinity of the alleged offence, says there is a good deal of excitement and much comment in the neighborhood, but he heard no threats of violence, and does not think any violence is intended.
