HARE/CLAY/PERDUE
Searching for information on the ancestors of Joseph HARE (b Sept 1749 d Sept 1853). He was born in the vicinity of present-day Fayetteville, NC and emigrated to the Giles County area in 1779, settling near the mouth of Wolf Creek in Narrows. He married (1st) Naomi CLAY (d/o Mitchell CLAY) in 1789 and (2nd) Phoebe PERDUE (d/o William PERDUE c1730 – c1810). It is already known that his ancestors left France in the late 1600’s and lived, for several years thereafter, in Barbados prior to coming to SC and then on to the Fayetteville, NC area.
It is presently suspected that he was one of 11 children born to Joseph and Ann HARE and that he may have come to the Narrows area with an Edward HALE of Franklin Co., VA.
Joseph and his family in Narrows were known to have had close ties with the FRENCHES, PERDUES and (Rev. Landon) DUNCAN families of this area.
Any information on his ancestral line would be appreciated.

HUGHES/FRENCH
Searching for ancestral information on Reuben HUGHES, father of Susan HUGHES (c1763 – c1824), who married James FRENCH (c1763 – c1841) in Narrows, (then-Montgomery Co.) Va. on 18 October 1789. Susan was most likely born in NC and Reuben in northeastern Va. Reuben apparently was a Loyalist who emigrated from the Haw Patch area of NC to present-day Giles Co. (around the Sugar Run area) either during or immediately following the Revolutionary War, as many NC Loyalists did (Note: Montgomery Co. was thought to have had the largest number of “Loyalist-leaning” residents in the state just prior to, and during, the Revolutionary War). He may have married a lady with the maiden name of WILBURN (also of NC) as his family was known to have been closely affiliated with them in the Sugar Run area.
Any info would be appreciated.

TROUTT/HYPES/LUGAR
I am looking for ancestral information on John G. TROUTT (bc 1820 in either present-day Roanoke or Craig County, Va.) One of his sons, James Henry TROUTT (1857 – 1919), also my direct ancestor, married Lora Lee HYPES ( c 1865 – c1952 d/o William Benton HYPES bc 1845 and Mary Elizabeth LUGAR bc 1842). James TROUTT died enroute to visit family near Pembroke and Lora Lee lived (after his death) in the Christiansburg area with her youngest son (Clay) until her death around 1952.
As a point of note, I am already aware of the prominent “TROUT” families of the Roanoke area but have yet to make a connection to any of them, IF one can indeed be made.
