Giles County Confederate Is Killed by Old Enemy.

Roanoke Va June 11.- News reached here today from Pearisburg of the killing near that place yesterday of A. J. Thompson, a Confederate veteran, of Giles County, by Jacob L. Carper.

Thompson, accompanied by his son was walking on the highway when they met Carper. The latter opened fire, killing Thompson instantly. Carper was arrested and lodged in jail at Pearisburg. The two men have long been enemies.
