Passenger Train Caught Between Them – Nobody Was Hurt
There were two wrecks between this city and Radford yesterday. The first occurred near Pearisburg and the wreck crew and equipment was sent to the scene. Late in the afternoon there was another freight train wrecked between Hardy and Oakvale. This caught passenger train No 2 and the wrecking train between the two. The steam wrecker from North Fork was ordered to Oakvale and it was after nine o’clock when it passed here last night. No 3 was behind both of these wrecks and a train made up here was sent down to Oakvale and a transfer made by using the train lying between the two scenes of trouble. No 3 arrived at 12:20.
