Norfolk and Western Safe Blown Open

(By Telegraph to Virginian-Pilot)

Pearisburg Station, Va., Oct. 30. –

Safe crackers entered the station of the Norfolk and Western Railway Company at Pearisburg last night and blew open the safe, supposedly with nitro-glycerine.

The agent, Mr. R. S. Fry, had very prudently removed all the money and valuables, except some small change, amounting to a few dollars, and a C. O. D. package, containing a cheap watch. The safe door was completely demolished, but with this exception no damage was done.

The robbers were poorly paid for their trouble.
