Wm. A. French Dies Suddenly.
Was a Former State Senator – Illness Was Very Brief.
Pearisburg, Va., April 1. – (Special.)
Williams [sic] A. French, of Marrows [sic], died this evening at his home. He was taken suddenly ill on last Thursday, while on his way to Pearisburg to attend the funeral of his niece, Miss Minnie French. He was formerly the State Senator from this district, defeating Hon,. J. H. Tyler, now Governor of Virginia, and was afterwards Sergeant-at Arms of the Senate. His death was due to stomach trouble.
