Looking for any information on Pvt. Bernard J. Dolan.
Ambulance driver killed in artillery Barrage? France on or about July 21, 1918. Place of birth Ashland, Pennsylvania. Possibly 17 or 18 at time of death. Post 434 Ashland is named in his honor but we need info for Post records and database. Lost all records in fire some years ago. I am First Vice Commander of Post.

    Frank:

For Bernard J. Dolan, I found burial info and Pennsylvania Vet Compensation card. Send me your e-mail address and I’ll send copies.

Place of birth listed as Big Mine River, PA.

He was an Ambulance driver and KIA on July 21, 1918, battle site listed as “South of Soissons”. Looks like he was a Cpl and may have been reduced back to Pvt.

He is also listed in “Soldiers of the Great War” Vol 3, P143 , under Pennsylvania, as a Pvt., KIA.

I’ll keep looking for more data.
