A Typical Missing Air Crew Report (WW2)

The following pages show a transcript of a typical Missing Air Crew Report from World War Two. These reports were authorized in May 1943 to record what was known about the last moments of a missing air crew. The report was prepared by the unit shortly after the loss of an aircraft and sent to HQ, although some reports were prepared after the war including those for aircrews lost prior to the May 1943 authorization.

This particular report, MACR 9355, gives the details of a B-17, tail number 43-38151, that was lost over Germany on 7 October 1944. Listed below are the documents included with the report.
